Drink an avocado?

so i thought i would try something new today and throw an avocado in my lunch smoothie.

sounds so weird, doesn't it?

but hey, I love avocados and they are sooooooo good for you. avocados provide nearly 20 essential nutrients, including fiber, potassium, vitamin e, b-vitamins and folic acid. they also act as a "nutrient booster" by enabling the body to absorb more fat-soluble nutrients, such as alpha and beta-carotene and lutein, in foods that are eaten with the fruit.

so, that's good, right?

(except who cares 'cause they are delicious and i would eat them if they had all the nutrition of a potato chip, let's face it.)

SO

into the vitamix went an huge handful of spinach, some fresh coconut meat, one kiwi that was not ripe enough (kinda sour, oh well) and a big handful of grapes...oh and two clementines...

and that lovely, lovely half avocado

spring water....zoom, zoom and delicious!

oddly, i preferrred this smoothie room temperature, not icy cold.

by the way, this is day 3 of the cleanse and i am down about 5 pounds and i have a ton of energy and i somehow just feel happy :-)

do i miss food and chewing?

not much and only if i let myself get too hungry, otherwise i kinda dig this time, this freedom from cooking, this freedom from deciding what to cook and all the clean-up.

it's all good.
